25 | On 12/14/2023, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Hanson Leong, made an unannounced Plan of Correction (POC) visit to the child daycare facility listed above. This facility also operates a preschool program under license number 214005557. The LPA was granted entry by one of the teachers, Irma De Leon. The purpose of the visit was to follow up with the 4 deficiencies that were identified on 12/5/2023. The LPA explained the purpose of the visit to Ms. De Leon. Present in the facility: 4 staff members, 8 infants, and 5 toddlers. All individuals listed on the facility’s roster have been granted permission to work or be present in a childcare facility. The facility is operating within its capacity and in accordance with the required ratio of staff to children.
The LPA observed unlocked cabinets containing poisons, cleaning supplies, and other potentially hazardous substances on 12/5/2023, and today the LPA found that the cabinets had the required child safety locks. The LPA reminded Ms. De Leon that cabinets containing poisons, cleaning products, and other potentially hazardous substances must always be locked.
The LPA observed the children using sleep sacks on 12/5/2023, which is not permitted in a licensed child care facility, and today the LPA found the sleeping sacks in one of their cabinets. Ms. De Leon was reminded by the LPA that sleep sacks should not be used on sleeping children. Ms. De Leon was reminded by the LPA that children should wear extra clothing when sleeping.
The LPA observed that the facility did not retain an emergency drill log, and the facility claimed that on 12/5/2023, they did not perform emergency drills in calendar year 2023. During today's visit, an emergency drill record was reviewed, and it was found that the facility's emergency drills were properly logged. A video of the emergency drill was also provided to the LPA. Ms. De Leon was reminded by the LPA to conduct emergency drills every 6 months and to keep accurate records of them.
During today’s visit, the 4 deficiencies, CCR 101174(d), CCR 101174(d)(2), CCR 101238(g)(1), and CCR 101430(a)(3)(C) that were identified on will be cleared on 12/14/2023.
A copy of today’s report and the Cleared POC Letters were given to Irma De Leon. A Notice of Site Visit was given to Irma De Leon and must remain posted on, or immediately adjacent to, the interior side of the main door for 30 days. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with Irma De Leon. |
