25 | On February 28, 2025 Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Garcia and Badger made an unannounced case management visit to add classroom space and increase capacity and met with Director, Robin Barneby. The Department received an application with Emergency Disaster Plan and sketches from the director requesting to add day care space in building 340, connecting buildings 350 (playroom 1) and 340 (playroom 2) together. There were 24 children and 3 teachers present in the facility during the visit.
During the inspection, the facility was inspected for health and safety hazards. Indoor space for building 340 (playroom 2) is sufficient for up to a total of 21 children and the older building 350 (playroom 1) at 27 children. The classrooms has a centralized fire alarm, a smoke and carbon monoxide detector, and a fully charged fire extinguisher. The facility has age appropriate toys, furniture, and equipment available for children. There are storage spaces for children's personal belongings located inside the classroom. The outdoor space remains the same. The number for bathrooms with toilets and sinks remains the same at 2 toilets and 2 sinks, limiting the total capacity rto 30 children in the whole facility. LPAs observed that the yard consist of sand box area, small benches and play structures for outdoor activity.
The fire inspection has been completed on January 6, 2025 and received at the RO on the same day. As of today's date, the room addition and capacity increase from 27 to 30 total children has been granted by the department.
No deficiencies are cited today under the California Code of Regulations, Title 22, Division 12.
