25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Robert Maciel made a case management visit to the facility for the purpose of reviewing a requested modification of outdoor activity space for the facility and met with facility Director, Lucia Vasquez.
On 10/03/24, Kristin Hills, the Director of Early Learning and Care and Educational Services at the Mendocino County Office of Education, emailed LPA an updated facility sketch that included additional proposed outdoor activity space in addition to the space currently used by the facility.
During today's visit, LPA reviewed the activity space and did not observe any immediate or potential health and safety concerns. The additional space is adjacent to the facility, opposite to the existing facility playground. The area is gated. LPA observed no play structures. There was a shed which LPA observed was padlocked. Director stated the shed contains play equipment for the facility.
Director stated that the play area will be used for activities that require more space on flat ground, as opposed to bark, like riding bicycles and ball games. The area is not used by any students from Shanel Valley Academy, the elementary school whose campus the facility operates on.
This report was read and reviewed with Director, Lucia Vasquez. There were no deficiencies cited during today's inspection. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Failure to do so will result in an immediate civil penalty of $100. |
