25 | On 06/04/2024, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Erica Pacheco conducted a Licensee Initiated Case Management inspection at the facility and met with Director Michelle Joseph. The purpose of the visit was to inspect the removal of the See-Saw and the installation of the two Sit-n-Spins in the preschool play area. The new play equipment is in the same outside activity area that has been licensed for preschool children. The play equipment was professionally installed and is properly anchored into the ground. There is rubber playground tile surfacing underneath the structure that adequately covers the fall zones. The play structure has an age-appropriate sticker on one of the sit-n-spins, both sit-n-pins are the exact same. The same sticker has a supervision sign that indicates the play structure is for children 2-12 years of age. There is also a Warning sticker on the opposite sit-n-spin stating "playground equipment and/or surfacing in direct sunlight may reach temperatures high enough to cause serious burn injuries within seconds. Supervisors should check for hot play surfaces and/or surfacing before letting children play." Director is aware of the warning and was advised to have staff check/touch the sit-n-spins to determine if temperature is safe for children every time the children are playing outdoors in the play area. LPA advised Director Michelle Joseph, effective immediately the facility may begin using the new structure for preschool children.
Per Title 22, Division 12, Chapter 1, of the California Code of Regulations, no deficiencies are cited.
Exit interview was conducted with Director Michelle Joseph. LIC 9213 Notice of Site Visit is provided and required to be posted for 30 days. |
