25 | On 03/26/2021, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Juvenal Moctezuma & Ginny Badhesha conducted an announced Case Management inspection and met with Site Supervisor, Virginia Franco. LPs explained the reason of the inspection and a tour of the center was conducted both inside and outside. The center is located on the premises of Dos Palos Elementary School but has changed its address to 1734 California Ave in Dos Palos, CA. Licensee has added an additional classroom (3) and is wanting to increase their preschool capacity to 78 preschool children ages 3-5 years. This program will operate on a traditional school year schedule and has an AM Session from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM and PM Session from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
Virginia stated that the district provides children with breakfast and lunch. The food is prepped on site in the school cafeteria. The aides pick up the food in wagons from the school cafeteria and then disburse it to children in each classroom. Staff will utilize the private staff bathroom located in the Teachers lounge and site supervisors office. Ill children will be isolated in the site supervisors office and use the staff bathroom. The classrooms were observed to be clean and free of toxins. The cleaning items/supplies will be stored underneath their classrooms sinks, which will be inaccessible to children. The other cleaning items will be stored in the teachers lounge which children don't have access to. LPAs observed that the furniture and equipment appeared to be safe and in good condition. There are plenty of age appropriate items, tables, chairs, Cots, & cubbies to meet the requested capacity. Since its a half day program, children will not nap.
Room measurements were taken and reviewed with Virginia. The total inside preschool area measured to an approximate 2,350 square feet which will only accommodate 67 preschool children. Virginia amended her application during the inspection. There is adequate storage space available for children's belongings. Toys and equipment appeared to be age appropriate. There is a total of 6 toilets and 6 sinks/hand washing fixtures inside the classrooms. Virginia stated that children get provided with water bottles for both inside and outside.
