| On 10/09/2024 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Xona Xayavong conducted an unannounced Annual Random Inspection and was met by licensee Rosemarie Gomez. Also present was licensee’s assistant. Days and hours of operation are Monday through Friday 6:45 am to 5:30 pm.
LPA toured the home inside and a census was taken. LPA reviewed current facility sketch and confirmed that the kitchen, bathroom, living room, and den are used for providing care and are accessible to children. All other rooms are off-limits and made inaccessible by use of a baby gate and locked door knob.
There is no swimming pool or other bodies of water on the premises. There are eight dogs that are kept in off-limits areas in the backyard, and eight poison dart frogs that are kept inside a terrarium that is located on the dining room counter. Applicant is advised it is her responsibility to ensure the safety of children in care at all times from the pets.
There are no firearms or ammunition on the premises. All poisons are kept in a locked storage area. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medication and other hazardous items are made inaccessible.
There is one fireplace in the home located in the living room and is made inaccessible by a glass door and will not be in use during daycare hours. There is a working fire extinguisher, smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector and adequate heating and ventilation for safety and comfort.
This is a two-story home and stairs are gated when children under age 5 years old are present. Safe toys and play equipment are observed. The home has working telephone service and LPA confirmed the phone number is (209) 626-9095.
Licensee ensures that children in care are supervised at all times and is aware children shall not be left in parked vehicles. The outdoor play area in the backyard is fenced and there are no hazards to children present. Capacity as specified on the license is being maintained.
