25 | On 04/08/2024, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Ka Vang conducted an unannounced Plan of Correction (POC) inspection. LPA met with Licensees, Maria, and Miguel Salazar. During today's inspection, LPA observed no children were present. The purpose of today's inspection was to follow-up the POC and to inspect an in-ground pool with mesh fencing to ensure it meets the Title 22 Regulations.
Licensees stated the pool will be used for Licensees’ personal use only and will be off-limits for day care children and during day care operating hours when children are present. LPA observed the pool located in the backyard fenced by a long wooded and metal fence that installed but the wooded and metal fence did not meet the Title 22 Regulations; therefore, Licensees installed a mesh fencing on 04/06/2024 that meets the Title 22 Regulations. The pool is rectangular and had mesh fencing that surrounds the pool, and blocks access into the pool.
LPA took measurements of the height of the fence, any openings in the fence and the space between the bottom of the fence and the concrete. The mesh fencing was measured at five (5) feet tall and is anchored to the ground. LPA observed the mesh fencing was installed on concrete. LPA observed the fence door opens away from the pool and is self-closing and self-latching. The latch is located within the top 6 inches of the pool gate. LPA observed no direct windows access to the pool as the pool was fenced around by the mesh fence. Licensees stated that they also installed sound alarm in the pool and if there are any movements inside the water, the alarm will sound. The mesh fencing meets Title 22 regulations and Division 1, Appendix Chapter 4 of the 1994 Uniform Building Code. Licensees are approved to use the back yard for day care use effective today, 04/08/2024.
Licensees provided proof that they have also watched and understand the regulation of Bodies of Water Requirements in Child Care and Child Care Reporting Requirements.
Per Title 22, Division 12, Chapter 3 of the California Code of Regulations, no deficiencies were cited during today’s inspection. Exit interview conducted with Licensees, Maria, and Miguel Salazar. A notice of site visit (LIC 9213) was given and must remain posted for 30 days. |
