25 | On 05/08/2025, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Valerie Mireles conducted an unannounced Annual Random Inspection and was met by licensee Blanca Quintero. Also present was Licensee’s assistant. Licensee is Spanish Speaking. Hours of operation are 23 hours per day, seven days per week, as arranged. Licensee understands she cannot care for any children for 24 or more consecutive hours at a time.
This is a single level home and there are no stairs. LPA toured the home inside, outside and a census was taken. LPA reviewed current facility sketch and confirmed that living room, dining room, hallway bathroom and backyard are accessible to the children. All other rooms are off-limits and made inaccessible by use of child safety gates. Safe toys and play equipment are observed. LPA observed plenty of toys, a mounted television, reading area, age-appropriate books and learning materials. Licensee reported that there are no firearms or ammunition on the premises. No poisons were observed during the inspection. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medication and other hazardous items are made inaccessible. There are no fireplaces or open face heaters in the home. There is a working fire extinguisher, smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector and adequate heating and ventilation for safety and comfort.
Licensee is aware children shall not be left in parked vehicles and ensures that children in care are supervised at all times. The fenced backyard has tricycles, playhouses, work stations, a covered sand pit for children to use during outdoor play. There is no swimming pool or other bodies of water on the premises.
LPA reviewed a sample of children’s files and observed files were complete with emergency information as required. Licensee’s Mandated Reporter Training was completed on 09/01/2024. Licensee’s pediatric CPR/First Aid certification expires on 08/2026. A review of records indicates that all employees and/or volunteers have immunization records on file for influenza, pertussis and measles.
LPA discussed the Community Care Licensing (CCL) website www.ccld.ca.gov which will provide access to resources such as forms, regulations Provider Information Notices (PINs), and Quarterly Updates. LPA discussed Reporting Requirements as outlined in the regulations (Section 102416.2).Continued to LIC809-C.
