25 | On 02/26/2025, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Valerie Mireles and David Rocha conducted an unannounced Annual Random Inspection and was met by licensee Valeria Vasquez. Also present was licensee’s father, who has their criminal record clearance or exemption associated to the facility. Licensee is Spanish Speaking. Days and hours of operation are Monday-Friday from 6:00AM-6:00PM.
LPAs toured the home inside, outside and a census was taken. Capacity as specified on the license is being maintained. LPAs reviewed current facility sketch and confirmed that living room, dining room, kitchen, and hallway bathroom are used for providing care and are accessible to children. All other rooms are off-limits and made inaccessible by either locked doors or doorknob spinners. This is a two-story home. The stairs are located in an off-limit room made inaccessible via locked door, which is separate from the main part of the home. Safe toys and play equipment are observed. There is a fireplace inset in the dining room that applicant states will not be used during day-care hours. The outdoor play area in the backyard is fenced and there are no hazards to children present. There are 12 dogs, 3 cows, one horse, 10 goats, approximately 60 chickens, 12 ducks, and one rabbit located in kennels/gated areas in the backyard. Applicant is advised it is her responsibility to ensure the safety of children in care at all times from the pets. There is no swimming pool or other bodies of water on the premises. There is a working fire extinguisher, smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector and adequate heating and ventilation for safety and comfort. Licensee reported that there are no firearms or ammunition on the premises. No poisons were observed during the inspection. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medication and other hazardous items are made inaccessible.
LPAs reviewed a sample of children’s files and observed files were complete with emergency information as required. Licensee’s Mandated Reporter Training was completed on 02/14/2023 and licensee is in the process of renewing. Licensee’s pediatric CPR/First Aid certification expires on 12/2026. A review of records indicates that all employees and/or volunteers have immunization records on file for influenza, pertussis and measles. Continued to 809-C.
