On 08/10/2022 at 09:45 AM, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Susy Cervantes and Teodoro Trujillo, met with director, Rachel Cruz, for a case management visit to increase capacity. Facility is currently licensed for 45 children and director has requested an increase for 75 children. An inspection by the Monterey County Regional Fire Department was received prior to today's visit, inspection was conducted on 05/31/2022. LPAs measured inside and outside of the facility. Facility is currently closed, there were no children in care during today's visit.

Indoor space area measurements:

Room 1A: 45.2 x 22.1 = 998.92 encumbered space: 14.16
Room 1B: 23.3 x 16.6 = 386.78 encumbered space: 12
Room 2: 27.6 x 22.9 = 632.04
Room 3: 20.6 x 13.8 = 284.28 encumbered: 4.80

Total: 2271.06 sq. ft divided by 35 = 64

Outdoor space area measurements:

Lower playground A: 50.5 x 33 = 1666.50 encumbered: 41.60
Lower playground B: 47 x 16.5 = 775.50
Lower A triangle: 35.1 x 16.8 = 294.84
Lower B triangle: 49.5 x 16.5 = 408.38

Total outdoor space area: 3103.62 + 4531.40 = 7635.02 sq. ft. divided by 75 = 101.80

Facility has enough indoor space for 64 children and outdoor space for 101 children.
Outdoor play area is surrounded by appropriate fencing and trees that provide shade, several umbrellas are also placed through out the playgrounds.

There are 5 sinks (75), and 8 toilets (120) available for the children. Only cold water is available in the children's sinks. There's a staff bathroom that can be accessed through classroom 1A. The sick child will use the Staff Bathroom located near classroom 1A. The sick child will be isolated in the Office and isolation equipment is provided. There are a total of 61 chairs (8 more chairs in storage), 12 tables, and 105 cubbies. There is a total of 49 mats/ cots, director stated not all the children nap at the facility this school year, majority of the children get picked up before nap time.

After measuring during today's visit, it was discovered that the facility does not have the indoor square footage for the requested increase of capacity. The Director will submit a new application with a requested increase in capacity of 64 children, LPAs received a new LIC 200A for the new capacity requested.

Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the director, Rachel Cruz. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100.
