25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Martha Jimenez-Villanueva met with licensee Veronica Marquez-Conway for an unannounced Inspection on June 12, 2024, at 1:00pm. LPA explained the nature of today’s inspection to her. Licensee Robert Conway arrived at home while the visit was conducted. Present during today's visit was licensees, assistant and 10 children in care: two infants, four preschoolers and five schoolers. Adults living in the home are licensee, her husband and children ages eleven, twelve years old and infant twenty two months. Days and hours of operation are Monday through Saturday 5:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
A review of staff records on 05/21/2024 indicates that all Facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse index clearances or exemptions. Licensees were reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
LPA observed a blocked fireplace, no stairs, and no bodies of water. The wall heather is located in off limit area. Licensees state there are no weapons at home. LPA observed a dog, licensees state the dog is vaccinated and stay in the back yard in a cage. LPA observed a full fire extinguisher 2A10BC that was serviced on 04/20/2024. Dual carbon monoxide and smoke detector was operable. Sharp objects, medicines, poisons and cleaning supplies are inaccessible to the children and stored in top kitchen cabinets. Backyard is fenced. Off limit areas: three bedrooms, one bathroom, garage, shed, right side yard.
