25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Fermin Campos-Jaramillo conducted an unannounced annual inspection to the home today. LPA met with Brenda Anaya, licensee and explained the nature of today's inspection to her. Days and hours of operation are Monday to Saturdays 5:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Licensee stated the adults that reside in the home are licensee Brenda, her husband and helper Jose, and her daughter Natalie. LPA observed nine children were present in the home during the inspection, including 2 infants, 3 school age, and 4 preschoolers. Licensee's daughter Natalie was helping licensee with the supervision. Certification for CPR and First Aid Card for Licensee and helpers Jose and Natalie are current and will expire on 2/14/26 for Brenda and Jose, and on 5/2/26 for Natalie.
LPA toured the indoor and outdoor areas of the home during today's inspection. LPA obtained a copy of the children's roster today and it is current. LPA reviewed five children files and observed files are complete. LPA observed that Licensee has conducted a fire drill during the last six months. Last fire drill was documented on 5/01/24.
The Licensee has a working telephone in the home. Licensee is using one of the bedrooms as main childcare area (sketch bedroom 2). LPA observed sufficient materials, toys, and play equipment for the day care children. Off limit areas inside are: Three bedrooms, one bathroom, and the laundry area. Off limits areas outside: The detached garages, two storage sheds, and all the front yard. The home is located in a rural area. Licensee has a fenced patio accessible from the day care area inside the house. Licensee uses patio as playground for the children in care. LPA observed the house has a fence and a gate.
LPA observed a fully charged 3A40BC fire extinguisher last time serviced on 2/20/24 and at least one working smoke detector and at least one carbon monoxide detector. LPA observed there are not stairs inside the home. LPA observed the home does not have wall heaters, or bodies of water. LPA observed a barricaded fireplace located in the living room. Licensee has two dogs which are vaccinated, and goats. LPA observed the dogs and the other animals are not accessible to the children in care. The Licensee states that she does not have weapons in the home. All detergents, cleaning compounds, medications, and other similar items are stored inaccessible to children.
