25 | On 08/24/2023 at 09:45 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Susy Cervantes met with licensee, Reyna Espinoza, for an annual and increase in capacity inspection and explained the reason for the visit to them. Present during today's visit were licensee with 5 children: two infants and three preschool. Adults living in the home are licensee and their spouse with one child age 5. Days and hours of operation are Monday through Friday 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM. A fire clearance was received from the South Monterey County Fire District prior to today's visit.
Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
LPA inspected inside and outside of the home. LPA observed a covered fireplace, no wall heater, no stairs, and a wading pool with water in the front yard. LPA observed there is chicken feces in the children's outdoor play area. Licensee stated there are no weapons in the home. LPA observed there are fish, chickens, geese, birds, and a dog, LPA reviewed dog's vaccinations. LPA observed a 3A40BC fire extinguisher that was full. Carbon monoxide and smoke detectors were operable. Sharp objects, medicines, poisons and cleaning supplies are inaccessible to the children and stored in the garage. Right side yard is fenced. Off limit areas: three bedrooms, one bathroom, garage, and back yard where pets are.
