25 | Licensing Program Analysts (LPA) Fermin Campos-Jaramillo conducted an unannounced annual and increase of capacity inspection to the home today. LPA met with Lorena Alvarez Castillo, Licensee, and explained the nature of today's visit to her. LPA observed there were six children in care today, included two infants, and four preschoolers. Days and hours of operation are Monday to Friday from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM. The adults that reside in the home are the licensee and her husband Mario. Also in the home reside licensee minor children ages 17, 14, and 9 years old. Licensee's certifications for CPR and First Aid are current and will expire on 4/24/23
LPA toured the indoor and outdoor areas of the two story home during today's visit. LPA obtained a copy of the children's roster. LPA reviewed the Fire/Disaster drill log during today's visit. The last fire drill was documented on 7/11/22. LPA reviewed six children files and they are complete, included the parent's rights, the emergency information, and the safe sleep plan. Licensee has a working telephone in the home. LPA observed sufficient materials, toys, and play equipment for the day care children. The home is clean, orderly, and safe for the day care children. LPA did not observe any wall heaters inside the home. LPA observed licensee has placed inaccessible to the children all the cleaning compounds and medications. Off limit areas in the home: All the second floor, one bedroom in the first floor, and the attached garage.
The home has a barricaded fireplace located in the on limits area. There are barricaded stairs in the home. Off limit areas outside the home: One small shed in the back yard. LPA observed the back yard is fenced, and it is used as playground for the children and there are not bodies of water.
LPA observed a fully charged 3A40BC fire extinguisher served on 5/13/22, working smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. LPA observed the home has installed also a pull down fire alarm. The Licensee states that she does not have any weapons in the home. All detergents, cleaning compounds, medications, and other similar items are stored inaccessible to children. Licensee has proof of the immunization for measles, pertussis and influenza according with the SB792.
