Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Andrea Cortez conducted an unannounced Required - 1 Year Inspection. LPA was greeted and granted entrance by the Licensee Jill Carroll. The purpose of today’s inspection is to ensure the home is in compliance with Title 22 California Code of Regulations. Today’s census is 7 (3 infants and 4 preschoolers). The day care hours of operation are Monday - Friday, 7:30am – 4:30pm. The Licensee's CPR and First Aid expire May 2025.

LPA reviewed a current Childcare Facility Roster and Fire/Disaster drill log during today's visit. The last fire disaster drill was conducted May 10, 2023. LPA observed sufficient materials, toys, and play equipment for the children in care. The home is orderly, and safe for the day care children. The LPA did not observe a wall heater in the home (central heat). The LPA observed a securely gated and locked fireplace in the home. The off limit areas inside the home are: all bedrooms (with the exception of bedroom #1), family bathroom, master bathroom, laundry room, back yard behind the home, and garage.

There is a securely locked and covered hot tub/ jacuzzi in the side yard. The hot tub/ jacuzzi is non-operable, unplugged, and empty of water. LPA observed propane tank on the off limits side-yard fenced off.. The Licensee states there are no weapons/firearms. All detergents, cleaning compounds, poisons, medications, and other similar items are out of reach and inaccessible to children. LPA observed a fully charged 2A10BC fire extinguisher,

The Licensee understands the current capacity for a large home childcare. Licensee has a posted ratio/capacity chart for reference. The Licensee states that she does not transport children; she understands that children cannot be left in parked vehicles unattended any time.
