25 | On January 14, 2026, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Darnella Barnes conducted an unannounced annual inspection of the child care facility. LPA explained the purpose of the visit to Licensee Jill Carroll who granted access and received the Entrance Checklist (LIC 126).
At the visit were Licensee, staff Amanda Carrizo and 6 children. The facility operated Monday through Friday 7:30 am – 4:30 pm. Required postings were visible. Records showed the last fire and disaster drill took place on 11/11/25. LPA reminded the licensee of the six-month drill requirement and the need for proper documentation.
LPA reviewed capacity and ratio rules, supervision requirements, mandated reporter duties, and the non-waivable rights of children.
LPA toured the home. Off-limits areas included all interior except kitchen, dining, bathroom, and livingroom. The home was clean, well-ventilated, and furnished with safe, age-appropriate toys and equipment. A fully charged 2A-10B-C fire extinguisher was available. Smoke and carbon monoxide detectors were tested and found to be working. A functioning telephone was also present.
Hazardous items, including cleaning supplies, detergents, medications, and poisons, were stored out of children’s reach. No dangerous conditions were observed. The licensee stated there were no firearms in the home, and smoking was prohibited.
