25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Andrea Cortez conducted an announced Pre-Licensing inspection today. LPA arrived at the home and met with Lucia Tovar-Pina Applicant. The purpose of today's pre-licensing inspection is for a home childcare relocation. The Application is currently licensed for a large childcare. Applicant’s hours of operation are Monday through Friday 6:00am to 7:00pm.
Physical Plant tour: LPA toured the indoor & outdoor areas of the home with the Applicants during today's inspection. The home is orderly and clean. There is a fireplace in the living room barricaded and not in use. The off-limit areas: Bedroom 1, Bedroom 2, and laundry room. And on-limit areas: kitchen/dining area, living room, bathroom, hallway, and backyard.
LPA explained the Fire drills are to be conducted are every 6 months. The Applicant understands the importance of maintaining a current children's' roster. The Applicant has a working cell phone in the home. LPA observed toys and play equipment for the day care children. All detergents, cleaning compounds, other similar items and poisons are inaccessible to children. LPA explained and the capacity chart with Applicant and gave copies for reference.
LPA observed a fully charged fire extinguisher in the kitchen. There are working smoke & carbon monoxide detectors in the home. LPA did not observe any bodies of water. The Applicant understands that all pools, spas, hot tubs, fishponds, or similar bodies of water shall be covered or fenced as specified in Title 22 regulations to be inaccessible to children. Applicant states that there are no weapons or firearms in the home.
LPA reviewed supervision of children was discussed with the Applicant. Applicant understands that they must be present in the home at least 80 percent of the hours the day care is in operation and ensure that the children are always supervised.
Community Care Licensing Division (CCLD) regularly sends information to licensed facilities, providers, and stakeholders by way of Provider Information Notices (PIN), Program Quarterly Update Newsletters and other important information communication platforms.
