25 | At 1:45pm on 3/20/2025, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Matthew Gallo met with licensee Jessica Druding for the purpose of an unannounced annual inspection. Upon arrival, LPA did not observe children in care, and licensee agreed to the inspection.
Licensee guided LPA on a tour of the facility, and a health and safety inspection was conducted in all areas accessible to children. Off-limits areas include main house and tool shed and licensee acknowledged that children must never enter these areas. LPA observed the required postings, a working phone, 2A10BC fire extinguisher, and functioning smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. Toxic and hazardous items are inaccessible to children, and licensee acknowledges that any poisons must be made inaccessible with a key or combination lock. Per Licensee, there are no weapons in the home. LPA observed a hot tub spa that is properly locked with a hard cover, as required by regulations. Outdoor play space is fenced, and licensee acknowledges that 100% supervision is required in any unfenced areas on the property.
Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
LPA reviewed 5 children’s files and observed them to be complete. A current roster is being maintained and fire and disaster drills are documented. Current CPR and First Aid certification was verified and expires 12/2025, and AB 1207 Mandated Reporter Training was verified for the Licensee and expires 6/2026.
