32 | (2) Staff do not ensure that facility is clean/sanitized.
It was alleged that the staff do not ensure that the general facility, including children’s bathroom, is sufficiently cleaned and sanitized. LPA visited the facility three times through the course of the investigation and observed the classrooms to be kept clean and in good condition. During an initial visit, LPA observed droplets on the toilet seat in the children’s bathroom, but did not observe a pattern of uncleanliness on subsequent return visits. Staff interviews did not provide corroborating evidence, and parent interviews did not reveal concern over the cleanliness or sanitization of the facility. Based on the collected evidence, the allegation is determined to be UNSUBSTANTIATED, meaning that although the allegation may have happened or is valid, there is not a preponderance of evidence to prove it.
(3) Staff are not meeting daycare children's toileting needs
It was alleged that staff were not meeting daycare children’s toileting needs by allowing children to remain in soiled diapers for an inappropriate amount of time. Interviews conducted with staff did not provide corroborating information to support the allegation, and interviews with parents did not reveal concerns over diapering issues. Diaper changing logs were not available to review as the facility does not keep record of changes. Based on the collected evidence, the allegation is determined to be UNSUBSTANTIATED, meaning that although the allegation may have happened or is valid, there is not a preponderance of evidence to prove it.
(4) Staff does not adequately supervise daycare children.
It was alleged that the staff do not adequately supervise day care children during play. During his three visits to the facility, LPA observed that staff provided adequate supervision and engaged in hands-on instruction with children in care. Staff interviews did not provide corroborating information to support the allegation, and parent interviews did not reveal concerns over supervision issues or unusual injuries. Based on the collected evidence, the allegation is determined to be UNSUBSTANTIATED, meaning that although the allegations may have happened or are valid, there is not a preponderance of evidence to prove it.
Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the facility representative, Sarah Kilgour. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days.
