Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Mahnaz (Nancy) Malek conducted an onsite inspection for the purpose of an Annual Inspection. The Covid-19 Emergency Response questionnaire was answered by director, Terri Treemarcki-Beck. LPA and the director toured the facility inside and outside, and the floor and yard plan (LIC 999) were verified. 5 classrooms (A, B, C, D, and E) were inspected. Classrooms D and E are located on the first level and the rest of the classrooms are located on a higher level of this building. The preschool is located on a Church ground. There were a total of 49 preschool children with 7 staff in the classrooms and on the playground. Due to COVID 19 guidelines, LPA observed the facility was following CDC and Dept of Public Health Guidelines. Facility hours are 8:00am - 3:30pm., Monday through Friday. A review of the Facility Personnel Report Summary on this date indicates all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse index clearances or exemptions. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
During the inspection of the indoor activity space, items which could pose a danger to children (detergents, cleaning compounds, and medications) were observed to be stored out of the reach of children. Poisons/Hazardous Items are not kept on the premises. The facility does not provide lunch and snack for children. They are provided by parents. Floors, equipment, and furniture were clean and observed to be in good repair and free of sharp edges. There is drinking water available to children indoors by children's own water bottles.
