32 | During investigation, LPA conducted observations on the interactions between facility staff and children in care during playtime on 04/03/2025 and 06/10/2025. LPA interviewed five (5) staff, contacted seven (9) parents, but only four (2) responded and were interviewed. LPA attempted to conduct child interviews, but they are not eligible to be interviewed due to age.
Regarding allegation (1) Staff yelled at child in rough, angry, demanding tone, during LPA’s observations on 04/03/2025 and 06/10/2025, LPA observed staff speak to children in a gentle tone, following positive discipline guidelines. Five (5) out of five (5) interviewed staff stated that they have not witnessed staff yell at children in rough, angry, demanding tone.
All interviewed staff provided consistent statements regarding healthy mealtime procedures and positive interactions as outlined in the teacher-student relationships training . LPA attempted to conduct children’s interviews, but they did not qualify to be interviewed. All interviewed parents did not disclose any concerns regarding the above allegations.
Regarding allegation (2) Child disclosed the teacher tried to grab child with force, LPA conducted observations on 04/03/2025 and 06/10/2025, LPA Castro observed staff engage and interact with children in a gentle manner. LPA interviewed five (5) staff, all interviewed staff denied witnessing any staff grabbing children in care with force.
All interviewed staff provided consistent statements regarding positive discipline guidelines. The facility also has a no tolerance policy for teachers using physical punishment, psychological abuse or coercion as outlined in their Classroom Observation checklist. LPA contacted nine (9) parents, but only two (2) responded and were interviewed. LPA attempted to conduct children’s interview, but they did not qualify to be interviewed.
