On 10/16/2024, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) K. Navar and O. Meza conducted an unannounced Case Management inspection assisted by Director Aimee Valentin. The Director was informed of the visit’s purpose and a facility tour was completed. The census was 48 preschool children and 5 staff. The facility was operating within teacher child ratios and licensed capacity and posting requirements were met.

An on-site Facility Personnel Report Summary review indicates all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse index clearances or exemptions.

Upon arrival the LPAs observed staff supervising children napping in classrooms. Bathrooms were observed and appeared clean and sanitary. Playground was observed to be free of broken toys and sharp objects material used to absorb falls is artificial turf, grass and sand.

During the visit, the LPAs reviewed the regulations for staffing requirements and criminal background clearances.

The LPAs discussed the following resources with Director Aimee Valentin and reminded her that it is her responsibility to review the information in more detail.

During the visit, the director was reminded that Licensing Quarterly Updates are available at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/community-care/self-assessment-guides-and-key-indicator-tools/quarterly-updates. The director understands it is her responsibility to review the Provider Information Notices (PIN) found on the CCLD website above.
