There were working carbon monoxide, smoke detector, and fire extinguishers in the home that meet statutory requirements. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medicines, and other items which could pose a danger if readily available to children were stored inaccessible to children. There were no poisons or other items observed which could pose a danger to children. If they were observed, they were locked or inaccessible.
Food is prepared on site; lunch and snacks are provided. Food prep areas were clean and sanitary. Food is properly stored. Floors, equipment, and furniture were clean and observed to be in good repair and free of sharp edges. The children's bathroom is clean and sanitary. Children nap on mats and cribs, bedding is stored individually and is washed by licensee weekly. The facility has conducted an emergency drill within the past six months and keeps documentation of drills. The most recent drill was conducted on 9/24/2025.
Licensee stated there are no firearms and/or other dangerous weapons in the facility and none were observed during today's inspection. The home had age-appropriate toys for the ages served. LPA verified there is a working telephone service (cellular service). Licensee stated that there is a water fountain in the front yard next to the front door. The water fountain is covered and licensee stated that the front yard is not part of the daycare.
Licensee and assistant’s files were reviewed during the facility inspection on this date. Beginning September 1, 2016, Health and Safety (H&S) 1597.622 states, a person shall not be employed or volunteer at a family childcare home if he or she has not been immunized against influenza, pertussis, and measles. Proof of immunization against influenza, pertussis, and measles for licensee/assistant were reviewed and within compliance.
Beginning March 31, 2018, H&S Code 1596.8662 requires all licensed providers and employees to complete mandated reporting training and to renew the training every two years. Licensee/assistant possesses current EMSA approved Pediatric CPR/First Aid certifications, which expires 2/27.
Five (5) Children's records were reviewed, and there was a separate, complete, and current record. LPA observed 3 infants from 0-24 months. LPA observed and reviewed LIC 9227 Individual Infant Sleeping Plan and Sleep Log for infants from 0-24 months in children’s files. In the areas reviewed, the children’s files were found to be in full compliance.
