Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Desai, Ketki conducted an unannounced Case Management Licensee initiated inspection at the above facility for the purpose of decreasing the Preschool age capacity by removing one classroom, Room # 7.
LPA observed 45 preschool age children with four staff members, providing care and supervision to the children.

Currently facility is licensed for 106 Pre-school age children, 2 years to 4.9 years old in five assigned rooms # 3,6,7,8 and 9.
Now facility is removing Room # 7 to the Infant age program, decreasing the total preschool age capacity to 78 children. Preschool age program has their own yard.

Facility shall now use Room # 3,6,8 and 9 for Preschool age program

Facility Director Ms. Vasseghi, Mojagan gave a tour of the facility

The following was observed in the following in the preschool room
· Age appropriate furniture and equipment’s
· Educational items /Arts and Crafts activities.
· Room is well lighted with ventilation.
· Drinking water is available through filtered water pitchers and personal water bottles
· Facility offers Breakfast/ Lunch and PM snacks to the preschool age children
All meals are prepared on the premises in the kitchen by the designated staff.
Children nap on cots and linens are provided by the facility and washed daily on the premises. (1)

Preschool age children have individual cubbies for storage
· Electronic sign in and out
· CDC Guidelines are being followed.
· Classrooms has specific age appropriate bathrooms designated for Preschool age children in the classroom

On today’s inspection four preschool rooms were measured.

Indoor activity space: 3164'76 divided by 35 = 90 children
( Facility has requested 78 preschool age children)

Total sinks: 8 X 15 = 120 children / Total toilets: 9 X 15= 135(children)

Facility has sufficient sinks and toilets to support the requested capacity of 78 preschool age children

Outdoor space: Facility has a designated Preschool age yards, which is accessed directly from the classroom door. One for younger preschool age children and one for older preschool age children.
Preschool age yard has a surrounding fence with soft cushion flooring, placed on the age appropriate toy structures with shade to absorb any falls and shade is provided by a building structure and a shaded canopy. There is a bike trail in the yard. Age appropriate toys and play structures were observed in both the yards

After a tour of the center, no deficiency was observed.

Facility Administrator is current on the required Pediatric CPR/First Training: Valid up to August 11th 2023

Based on today’s room measurements/ Outdoor space with sinks and toilets: Facility has sufficient space to accommodate 78 Preschool age age children in Room # 3,6, 8 and 9

Operating hours: Monday to Friday 6:30 am to 6:30 PM. Total Capacity : 154 children
Criminal Record Statement : Facility Representative (Ms. Vasseghi, Mojgan . ) was was reminded that all adults 18 and over responsible for administration or direct supervision of staff, persons who provides care and supervision to children, and staff who have contact with children, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.

Safe Sleep : LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with Facility Representative (Ms. Vasseghi, Mojgan ) discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed [applicant, licensee, or facility representative] of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment.
