On August 8, 2024 at 11:30am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Patricia Rivas conducted an announced Case Management inspection for a decrease in capacity. Upon arrival, LPA met with Applicant/Facility Representative , Ms. Melissa Nguyen. Applicant is requesting to be licensed for 61 pre school children ages 2 years to 5 years old in rooms, 102, 103, 104 Going to be adding room 112 (Kinder gym)
, 135 napping room. Room 105 was moved to the Infant Toddler License.
113 My Grown Up and me for use by parents with their own children through out the day.
Hours of operation will be Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:00pm. Present during today’s inspection were 0 children with 0 staff. Summer break. All indoor and outdoor activity space utilized for the children was inspected today. LPA informed Ms. Nguyen that staff are required to maintain direct visual supervision of the children at all times during indoor and outdoor activities and that exits are secured.
LPA continued to tour the facility and measured new additional indoor activity space. Indoor activity space measured on 09/28/23 at 1571.73 square feet, adding today's measurements of 628.07 for room 112 for a total of 2199.8 square feet which is sufficient to accommodate the new

requested capacity of 61 Children.
The Indoor activity space was reviewed, there were sufficient cots/mats, toys, bookshelves, and other activity supplies for the children. Drinking water is available in the classrooms via own bottles and filtered water system. LPA observed all hazardous items to be inaccessible to children. There are no bodies of water on the property. There is a gun on the premises that is under the armed guards' sole control. There is a waiver in place, dated 022823 Fire clearance was granted on 071724 for a capacity of 94. Which includes the infant/toddler children under license #304371636
LPA observed a total of 7 sinks and 5 toilets available for children’s use(includes two toilets and 2 sinks from the women's bathroom located in hall way) These are sufficient to accommodate the requested capacity of 61 children.

The facility currently has a fully fenced playground area. Fencing chain link is at least four feet high. The total square footage for all the outdoor activity space is 4352.78 square feet which was measured on 09/28/23. which is insufficient to accommodate the requested capacity. However, waiver will be requested.

Shade is provided via trees and canopy. There are sufficient outdoor age-appropriate toys and play equipment available on the playground. Drinking

water is available via own bottles and refilled with filtered water. LPA observed all hazardous items on the playground to be inaccessible to children. Ms. Nguyen was reminded that any changes to the facility must be reported to and approved by Community Care Licensing.

For child care center licenses issued after July 1, 2022, the licensee shall test their water for lead within 180 days of licensure pursuant to Written Directives section 101700 (PIN 21-21.1- CCP).


Ms. Nguyen was reminded that all adults 18 and over responsible for administration or direct supervision of staff, persons who provides care and supervision to children, and staff who have contact with children, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5-days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30-days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.

LPA was advised that Ms. Nguyen has reviewed lic 311A Records to Be Maintained at The Facility, for child’s records, personnel records, administrative records, and documents to be posted.”

LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with Ms. Nguyen and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at: https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep, as an additional resource. LPA also informed Ms. Ngyuen of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at: https://www.cpsc.gov/, and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment.”

Ms. Ngyuen was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org site, a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California.
Community Care Licensing Division (CCLD) regularly sends information to licensed facilities, providers, and stakeholders by way of Provider Information Notices (PIN), Program Quarterly Update Newsletters and other important information communication platforms.
