13 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Dean Valencia conducted an unannounced complaint inspection on today's date, 8/10/22. LPA met with interim director Jennifer Patterson, who guided LPA on a tour of the facility and census of children was taken. 80 preschool children and 9 staff were present during the inspection. During the course of the investigation, LPA interviewed five staff and attempted to interview a sixth staff, interviewed four children, took census, conducted a physical plant inspection/walk through, and gathered facility documentation related to the allegations. LPA corroborated from staff interviews, child interviews, and facility documentation related to the allegations that on 7/29/22 at approximately noon a child, child #1 (see Confidential Names List LIC811), had been handled in an inappropriate manner and was yelled at by a staff #1. LPA was able to confirm that this staff #1 aggressively grabbed a child by the arm, moved them to another part of the classroom against their will, and yelled at this child. This child became distraught, cried, and vomitted as result of the actions of staff #1. Based on the information obtained by LPA over the course of the investigation, the facility has been determined to be in violation of Title 22 Regulations 101223(a)(1) and 101223(a)(3), and two A violations are cited on the attached LIC9099D.
