This room is equipped with one children's bathroom. There is a tall enclosed cabinet with washer and dryer in it which is locked with a plastic lock and a metal latch. This area shall be locked during day care hours. The new day care area is separated from the other part of the house with a door between children's bathroom and off limit area in the house. Children will use the back yard as outdoor space. Licensee was reminded that children shall be escorted, supervised when passing through the off limits area of the house to access backyard. The outdoor area is fenced. There are no bodies of water on the premises. There is a small play structure with 2 slides, 3 swings, and low height 5 seats Seesaw swivel teeter totter equipment which are cushioned with Turf underneath. There is a gate on the side yard which is locked.
There are working carbon monoxide, smoke detector, and fire extinguishers in the home that meet statutory and State Fire Marshall standards. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medicines, and other items which could pose a danger to children were not readily available to children they were stored inaccessible to children, none were observed during inspection. Licensee stated there is no firearm in the facility. There is no pets at the house.
LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with Licensee, Maryam Maroof and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at: https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep, as an additional resource. Every 15 minutes check on napping children. and LIC 9227 Infant Sleeping Plan regarding children under 12 months old was discussed.
In the areas that were evaluated, no deficiency was observed of the California Code of Regulations, Title 22, Division 12 at the time of the visit.
A notice of site visit was given to licensee, Maryam Maroof and must remain posted on, or immediately adjacent to, the interior side of the main door for 30 days. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the licensee, Maryam Maroof. The licensee was advised that the room for new day care area is ready to use after following corrections received.
1- Pictures after transferring all the current furnishing to the new day care area.
2- Securing the tall white wooden cabinet which is located at the entrance of the room .
