25 | A one year required inspection was conducted at the facility by Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Tina Nguyen. LPA met licensee Thuy Nguyen. LPA Nguyen observed the licensee and her assistant providing care for 1 infant, 1 school age children and 2 preschool age children present.
A review of the Facility Personnel Report Summary on this date indicates all facility residents, staff, or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse index clearances or exemptions. Currently there is only 2 adults living in the facility. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
During today’s inspection, LPAs and licensee toured the inside and outside areas identified in the facility sketch as accessible to childcare children. The facility is a single-story home with three bedrooms, two bathrooms, living room, dining room, kitchen, front yard (not fenced), back yard(fenced), enclosed patio, and attached garage. The licensee has designated the living one bathroom, one bedroom, kitchen, dining room, enclosed patio, and back yard (fenced), as part of the day-care. The licensee has designated two bedrooms, one-bathroom, front yard, and garage as the off-limit areas. The off-limit bedrooms have key locks on the doorknobs, ensuring these areas are inaccessible to children in care. The facility does not have a fireplace. Cleaning solutions/chemicals, utensils, and sharp knives located in the kitchen, are placed in cabinets located above counter tops. Poisons/Hazardous items are not stored on site, and none were observed. There are no bodies of water on the premises. The toys are age appropriate and in good condition for the potential ages served. LPA verified there is a working telephone service (cellular service). Licensee stated they use an outdoor play area. There were no poisons or other items observed which could pose a danger to children or if they were observed, they were locked or inaccessible. Continued on Page 2 |
