25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Stacy Torrence conducted an onsite inspection for the purpose of an Annual Inspection. LPA and Licensee toured the facility inside and outside and the floor and yard plan (LIC 999) were verified. Also present during today’s inspection, was Licensee’s two assistants. LPA observed licensee and licensee’s assistants, caring for 14 preschool children. Licensee was operating within the licensed capacity as specified on license. Currently there are two adults including the licensee living in the facility. Facility Day Care hours are 8:00am-6:00pm, Monday through Friday.
A review of the Facility Personnel Report Summary on this date indicates all facility residents, staff, or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse index clearances or exemptions.
The childcare area consists of the living room, family room, dining room, kitchen, two bathrooms, one bedroom, and backyard. The facility has conducted an emergency drill within the past six months; however, the drill was not documented. There are working carbon monoxide, smoke detector, and fire extinguishers in the home that meet statutory and State Fire Marshall standards. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medicines, and other items which could pose a danger if readily available to children were stored inaccessible to children. Licensee stated there are no firearms and/or other dangerous weapons in the facility, and none were observed during today's inspections. There are fireplaces, located in the living room and family room, which are completed enclosed with plywood. The home has age appropriate toys for the ages served. LPAs verified there is a working telephone service (cellular service). Licensee stated they use the backyard as outdoor play area. There are no bodies of water on the premises. |
