All areas on the Facility Sketch LIC999 were inspected, including but not limited to, off-limits areas. The facility is a 1-story home with 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, living room, kitchen, laundry room, patio (fenced), and a garage.
Licensee has designated the laundry room, garage, bedroom 1 (one) and bedroom 2 (two) as the off-limits areas. The licensee has locks and child safety gates to ensure off limit areas are inaccessible to children in care.
The licensee has designated the living room, children’s bathroom, and patio as designated day care areas. Areas that will be used by children were inspected for safety, comfort, cleanliness, ventilation, and heating. The childcare bathroom is located in the hallway and was observed to be safe and free of hazardous items. The designated childcare areas were observed to have age-appropriate toys.
Detergents, cleaning compounds, medicines, sharp objects, and hazardous items that can pose a danger to children are inaccessible in areas designated for children. All drawers and cabinets in reach that have hazardous items have safety latches. The licensee stated that there are no poisons on the premises and LPA did not observe any. The licensee was advised that any poison must be locked with a key or combination lock. The licensee stated that there are no weapons or firearms on the premises. The LPA informed the licensee that when firearms are present, they must be locked and stored separately from the ammunition per CCR 102417(g)(4)(C).
The fire extinguisher type 2A-10BC must be serviced annually or as often as necessary. The pressure gauge on the 2A-10BC fire extinguisher(s) indicates fully charged, as indicated on the service tag observed. Smoke and carbon monoxide detectors were tested and are operable. Smoke and carbon monoxide detectors should be checked, and batteries replaced as needed. Emergency drill last documented 11/2025.
Outdoor play activities will be conducted in the back patio area. Patio has one gate that leads to courtyard area of complex that is locked and accessed with a key. Outdoor patio was inspected and to be free of hazardous items and to have age-appropriate toys. There are no bodies of water on the premises. Licensee stated there is a community pool that is located about 5-8 minute walk from facility and is accessed by a key phob. Licensee stated they will not be using the community pool.
