The outdoor activity space was inspected for compliance. The playground was enclosed by a fence at least four feet in height. The surface of the outdoor activity space was well maintained and free of hazards. The rubber cushioning material around the climbing equipment, and other similar equipment appeared to be enough to absorbs falls. Drinking water in the outdoor activity space is provided by water jugs. Children bring sports bottles with name on it to be refilled as needed. The outdoor equipment and toys were in good repair and free of sharp edges. There are no bodies of water present at the facility. The facility grounds. Were safe, sanitary and in good repair. LPA observed sandbox to have plastic black tarp and a lot of leaves inside it with toys. LPA reminded Director that sandbox should be clean and inspected daily for the health and safety of the children and read the regualtion Outdoor Activity Space 101238.2 (e)(1).
The facility has conducted an emergency drill within the past six months 6/10/2024. The facility has a working carbon monoxide detector and fire extinguisher. Director stated that Fire Alarm was last inspected 7/2023 by Times Alarm and will be inspected 8/02/2024 by PyroPro. Facility met all posting requirements. The California Child Passenger Safety Law was posted by the entrance of the facility.
6 staff files were reviewed for staff present during the facility inspection on this date. Health screening and immunization as required were reviewed. Beginning September 1, 2016, Health and Safety (H&S) states, a person shall not be employed or volunteer at a family day care home if he or she has not been immunized against influenza, pertussis, and measles. Proof of immunization against pertussis and measles for (licensee and assistant) were reviewed and within compliance.
Beginning March 31, 2018, H&S Code 1596.8662 requires all directors and employees to complete mandated reporting training, and to renew the training every two years. Facility uses a Licensing approved Child Mandate Training that is done by Keenan Safe Schools. At least one staff member present possesses current EMSA approved Pediatric CPR/First Aid certifications, which expires 09/2025.
5 children's records were reviewed, and there was a separate, complete, and current record for each child.In care. The areas reviewed the children’s files were found to be in full compliance.
