25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Patricia Rivas commenced an unannounced annual inspection. LPA was met by Director, Gloriette Cortez. The Covid-19 Emergency Response questionnaires were asked. Census; 54 children and 8 staff members. A review of facility Personnel Report Summary on this date indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse index clearances or exemptions.
During today's visit LPA conducted physical tour of rooms#5, 6, 7, 8 and 19. Hours of operation are from 6:30am to 6:30pm.
During the inspection of the indoor activity space, items which could pose a danger to children (detergents, cleaning compounds,) were observed to be stored out of the reach of children. Poisons/Hazardous Items are not kept on the premises. Food is prepared in facility. Menus were posted where they could be reviewed by parents. Floors, equipment, and furniture were clean and were observed to be in good repair and free of sharp edges. There is drinking water available to children indoors by sports bottle with the child’s name on it, and pitchers of water. The children's bathrooms are clean and sanitary. The last emergency drill was an earthquake drill which was conducted on 01/14/22. The facility has a working carbon monoxide detector.
Due to time constraints the annual inspection will be continued at a later date.
Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with Director Cortez. Appeal Rights were explained, Director was provided a copy of her Appeal Rights and signature on this form acknowledges receipt of these rights. Director was informed all appeals must be in writing and received by the Regional Office within 15 business days. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Failure to post will result in civil penalties of $100.00. The Notice of Site Visit must be posted on or adjacent to the door.
