Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Mahnaz (Nancy) Malek conducted a case management inspection of the facility for the purpose of the facility to add its toddler option from 6 toddlers to 18 toddlers in the Toddler Option Program. The facility has been licensed for 135 preschool children in rooms 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, and 6 toddlers in Room # 7. LPA met with director, Laura (Gabby) Johnson who gave LPA a tour of the facility. Room 7, and 8 are located on the upper level of one part of the building and rooms 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 are located on the lower level on the other side of the building. All areas identified on the Facility Sketch were inspected. During touring the facility LPA observed 9 toddlers in room # 7 with 2 teachers, and total of 71 preschool children in rooms 2, 3, 4, and 8. Rooms # 1 and 5 were vacant. Room # 8 with 18 napping children and 3 staff, room 2 with 18 napping children with 3 staff, room # 3 with 20 napping children and one staff, and room # 4 with 15 napping children with one staff observed.
The facility has requested to provide care and supervision to 135 preschool children ages 2 to 6 years old in rooms 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 and 18 toddlers ages 18 months to 36 months old in rooms 7 and 8, Monday to Friday from 7:00 am to 6:00
A review of the Facility Personnel Report Summary on this date indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse index clearances or exemptions. LPA reminded the director, Laura Johnson the infant sleep log for every 15 minutes check on children 24 months old since this program has toddler option component and children under 24 months old shall be checked every 15 minuets during nap time. The director, Laura Johnson was reminded that all adults 18 and over responsible for administration or direct supervision of staff, persons who provides care and supervision to children, and staff who have contact with children, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child
