Licensing Program Analysts (LPA) Giselle Lucero and Cynthia Sun and Licensing Program Manager (LPM) Martha Malane conducted a case management inspection of the facility for the purpose of room change and increasing the toddler option to 15 toddlers and decreasing preschool to 126 preschool children. LPA met with Director Laura (Gabby) Johnson who gave a tour of the facility to LPAs and LPM. Currently the facility is licensed for 135 preschool children Room 1,2,3,4,5,8 and 6 toddlers ages 18-36 months in Room # 7. LPA observed there were 7 preschool staff with 68 preschool children and 6 toddlers with 1 toddler staff.

A review of the Facility Personnel Report Summary on this date indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse index clearances or exemptions.

The facility has requested to provide care and supervision to 126 preschool children in room 1,2,3,4, and 5 and 15 toddlers ages 18-36 months old in Room 7 and Room 8. Monday to Friday from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm. Toddler Rooms 7 and 8 measured a total of 1,085.86 square feet which is sufficient for the requested capacity. There are 4 sinks and 4 toilets for children’s use which is sufficient for the requested capacity.

There is a sink in Rooms 7 and 8 within arm's reach of a changing table. A changing pad with raised sides (two sides) at least 3 inches and a pad that has a raised sides of 7 inches.

Total outdoor activity space measurement is as follows:
Outdoor space for the toddler playground is: 550.65 SQFT which is sufficient for 7 toddlers. Director stated licensee will submit a waiver request for toddlers to share the infant outdoor space.

Room 7 and Room 8 have age appropriate toys and equipment.

The director was reminded of safe sleep regulations and logging every 15 minutes check on infants and toddlers under 24 months old.

Orange County Fire authority approved the facility for maximum of 126 preschool children in room 1,2,3,4,5 and 15 toddlers in Room # 7 and Room #8 approved on 02/20/2024.

Community Care Licensing Division (CCLD) regularly sends information to licensed facilities, providers, and stakeholders by way of Provider Information Notices (PIN), Program Quarterly Update Newsletters and other important information communication platform.

A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted on, or immediately adjacent to, the interior side of the main door for 30 days. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the Director Laura (Gabby) Johnson.

Based on today’s indoor and outdoor measurements, the sinks and toilets available, the request of the facility to utilize room 8 for toddlers is granted effective today’s date.

An increase to the toddler option to 15 toddlers may be granted after submission of a waiver request and the Department's review of the waiver request to share the outdoor space with infants.
