32 | During the investigation, LPA interviewed 4 staff members and no disclosures were made by any staff member. During the investigation, interviewed staff members indicated the following: when children put the toy in their mouth; the teacher will wash that toys before giving it to another child; no staff members have witnessed any staff not washing the children’s toy for a long period of time; the teachers wash children’ hand multiple times during the day, such as in the morning when the children come in, before meals, after diaper changing, coming from outside, and through-out the days. Staff #3 (S3) disclosed that S3 cleaned the toys multiple times, such as during naptime or the end of the day. S3 indicated that if the child touched the trash can, the teachers wash their hand immediately.
LPA Nguyen contacted five parents by phone and was able to interview two parents. All two interviewed parents stated they like the facility and all staff members are very nice, friendly, and professional. Interviewed parents also stated they did not have any concern or issue with the facility.
LPA Nguyen also conducted an interview with 4 children. However, children were too young and not qualified for an interview.
Based on the information gathered from LPAs' interviews and reviewing records, there is insufficient evidence to corroborate the allegations of toys are not cleaned between children and staff don't wash children's hands before meals. Although the allegations may have happened or are valid, there is not a preponderance of evidence to prove toys are not cleaned between children, Staff don't wash children's hands before meals did or did not occur, therefore the allegations are UNSUBSTANTIATED.
