25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) P Rivas and M Malane conducted a case management inspection of the facility for the purpose of increasing capacity from 70 to 73 and change use of room 9.
Room #8 will be the only Toddler Option Room. LPAs met with director, Jamie Luu who gave a tour of the school to LPAs. Currently the facility is licensed for 44 preschool children in rooms 10 and 16 and 26 toddlers ages 18 months to 36 months old in room #8 and 9 from Toddler Option Component. LPA observed there were 10 staff with 51 children in rooms 8, 9, 10 and 16 . The facility is on the premises of The Liberty Baptist Church and Newport Christian Private School on the same premises.
The facility has requested to provide care and supervision to 10 toddlers ages 18 months to 36 months from Toddler Option Program in room 8, Monday to Friday from 7:30 am to 5;30 pm. The facility runs a full time and part time program. Children are dropped off, signed in and out electronically at the entrance of the building to go to assigned rooms. The facility has met all the posting requirements. All the classrooms were measured. Total square footage measured for rooms 8, 9, 10 and 16 was 2,560.75 which is sufficient to accommodate 73 children.
The fire clearance was granted with stipulations; Rm 8 can hold children 10, Rm 9 can hold 19 children, Rm10 can hold 21 children and Rm 16 can hold 24 children.
The total sinks observed were 10 (one of which was in room 8). The total toilets and urinals 6. There are sufficient sinks, toilets and urinals.
LPA advised that the restrooms situated between rooms 8 and 9 are to be used only for the Toddler Option Program.
LPA was advised that adults do not use the bathrooms located across from reception area but go upstairs. The bathrooms across from the reception area are to be only used by pre school children. LPA advised to add more signs since during visit LPA observed parents use the men's restroom. There was one sign posted on the bathroom doors advising use but parent used restroom during LPAs visit. |
