Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Mahnaz (Nancy) Malek conducted an unannounced case management inspection at this before and after school program for the purpose of increasing their capacity from 90 school age children to 120 children. LPA met with the director, Esmeralda Gonzalez. LPA was given a tour with director of the school classrooms. This school age program is located at OCCA Charter School.

The facility is currently licensed for 90 school age children in rooms B2, C2, E1, E5, G1, G2, and H3. The facility is adding new rooms of B4 (office) K1, K2, La, and L2. There were 89 after school children with 7 staff transitioning to rooms. Three staff were current on CPR and 1st aid training.

A review of the Facility Personnel Report Summary on this date indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse index clearances or exemptions.

Parents sign in and out their children manually. The staff sign the children out and sign them back in for before and after school schedules. Staff sign in and out the school age children when staff drop them off and pick them up from school ground. The younger children are dropped off and picked up by staff and older children arrive on their own on the school ground. Upon arrival each child has an health evaluation along with hand washing before they participate in the activities.
Isolation area is the office (Room B4) located at the entrance of the facility and there is an additional cot with bedding for the sick child in the Director's office. The bathroom for sick children is the adults' bathroom.
