Kevin Gaines, Licensing Program Manager, LPM Ho, and Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Mahnaz (Nancy) Malek conducted a site inspection at this Infant/Toddler center for the purpose of reviewing the operation of the childcare facility after being licensed on 5/19/2023 and providing additional resources regarding infant and toddler care. Kevin, LPA and LPM met with the Licensee/Director, Leticia Noyes, and acting directors, Stephanie Tjandra and Emily Cabuling who gave a tour of the entire facility. The facility has been licensed for 24 infants ages 3 to 18 months old in rooms 1, 2, and 3 and 36 toddlers from Toddler Option Component ages 18 to 36 months old in rooms 4, 5, and 6. The facility is also licensed to use the large room and Piazza room as additional spaces. A waiver is on file for Piazza Room to be used as additional outdoor space since the facility is lacking adequate outdoor space.
There were no children present today. According to director, twenty two families are on the waiting list to enroll their children. The facility is in the process of hiring staff in order to accommodate children.
The following resources were provided to the director on this inspection day:
1- Package of "what does a safe sleep environment look like?" in English and Spanish.
2- Safe sleep-frequently asked questions with the Sections of Title 22 Regulations in English and Spanish.
3- Poisonous Plants with pictures and names of the plants which are prohibited to keep at childcare facilities with the information of the Poison Center.
4- Brochures and flyers from Resource and Referral Agency (R&R) with topics such as: Self Esteem, Stress, Exercise, Sleep, Special Needs, Staying Healthy, Toilet Teaching Without Tears, Managing Anger, When A Child Bites, When Your Child Is Too Ill, Choosing Childcare, Communication, Family Time, Safety, Nutrition, and Separation From Home to Childcare.
The facility representative, Leticia Noyes was reminded that all adults 18 and over responsible for administration or direct supervision of staff, persons who provides care and supervision to children, and staff who have contact with children, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and
