25 | At 8:40am on 5/27/2024, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Matthew Gallo and Licensing Program Manager (LPM) Keven Peters met with Applicant Juan Paolo Sarmiento for the purpose of an announced pre-licensing inspection. Applicant requests an infant license to serve 12 infant children from birth to two years of age, with a toddler option to serve up to an additional 12 toddlers from ages 18-36 months. The program will operate Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The fire clearance was received and granted on 5/8/2024. The facility will be providing breakfast, optional lunch, and snacks. Parents will provide formula, breast milk, and baby food for their children.
LPA reviewed with applicant the LIC 311A, Records To Be Maintained At The Facility, for child’s records, personnel records, administrative records, and documents to be posted. LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with applicant and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed applicant of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at: https://www.cpsc.gov/, and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment.
INDOOR ACTIVITY SPACE:
There is one infant classroom and one toddler classroom. In the infant classroom, LPA observed sufficient amount of equipment, toys, tables, chairs, high chairs, cubbies, napping cots, and eight cribs. Applicant acknowledges that there will be a maximum of eight infants under 12 months old, due to the available cribs. As of now, the infant classroom lacks a physically separated area for sleeping. Applicant understands that the partition for the separated sleep area must be 4 feet tall. LPA observed a changing table within arm's reach of one sink. A refrigerator is present. Cleaning disinfectants are appropriately stored and inaccessible to children. Report continues on LIC809-C |
