32 | The facility provides clean, safe, and age-appropriate toys for children. A current roster is on file, and required postings, including the Facility Sketch, Emergency Disaster Plan, and Notification of Parent’s Rights, are displayed. Fire and disaster drill documentation is maintained, with the last drill conducted on February 25, 2025.
There is an in ground pool at the facility. A life ring with a minimum exterior diameter of 17 inches and labeled as approved by the United States Coast Guard and a rescue pole with a body hook and a minimum fixed length of 12 feet are not present at th time. The pool is surrounded by fencing which isolates the pool from access to the home, is a minimum height of 60 inches, has a maximum vertical clearance of 2 inches from the ground to the bottom of the enclosure, has no gaps that can allow passage of a sphere with a diameter of 4 or more inches, has no protrusions, cavities, or other physical characteristics that could serve as handholds or footholds for a child to climb over, and the access gate swings away from the pool and is self-closing with a self-latching key lockable device placed no lower than 60 inches above the ground. The maximum vertical clearance of the swinging gate from the ground to the bottom of the enclosure is 2.5 inches. Licensee understand that the clearance must be fixed to be 2 inches. Licensee understand that she must keep a daily log of pool checks before opening hours. LPA did not observe a pool alarm that will sound upon detecting an entrance into the water. LPA explained the new regulations and licensee understand that she must get pool alarm that is ASTM F2208 certified and meets the above requirements.
Licensee understands that all bodies of water including ponds, above ground pools, spas, and some fountains must be properly covered or fenced per Title 22 Regulations. The Department must be notified before and after installation of the above types of bodies of water. In addition, all wading pools or similar products must be emptied immediately after use and stored in an upright position.
Both children's and employees' records are complete. Mandated Reporter Training has been completed and is valid until May 22, 2025. The Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification expires on July 26, 2026. Resident and staff records were reviewed, and all adults requiring caregiver background checks have received the necessary clearances and exemptions.
