As part of the investigation, LPA Peebles conducted confidential interviews and obtained documentation pertinent to the case.
Community Care Licensing (CCL) received an allegation stating that staff did not provide adequate supervision to day care children. Specifically, it was alleged that during a transition from outdoor to indoor activities, a child was left unattended outside while the remainder of the class went indoors.
To investigate the allegation, LPA conducted confidential interviews with staff. Information obtained revealed that during afternoon outdoor play, Classroom #3 was transitioning indoors with six (6) children and two staff members present. After the class settled indoors and diaper changes began, staff realized that Child 1 (C1) was not present. Staff immediately initiated a search, and C1 was located on the playground by a staff member from a neighboring classroom. Based on interviews, C1 was unsupervised |
