25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) William Chancellor conducted an unannounced annual inspection for a large family childcare at the above home on December 18, 2025, at 8:00 AM. LPA met with Licensee Karly Turner, who guided LPA on a tour of the home. There were seven children present when LPA arrived, including one assistant.
The facility operates Monday through Friday from 6:30 AM to 5:30 PM each day. Certain areas are off-limits, including the entire second floor, attached garage, laundry room and bedroom #1 on first floor. The facility is licensed as a large Family Child Care Home (FCCH) with a maximum capacity of fourteen (14) children and is operating within the licensed capacity of the license. The fire clearance for a large family child care was approved in 2018 by Temecula Fire Department.
During the inspection, LPA observed Licensee and staff to be interacting with daycare children while engaging with art, music, kinetic sand and transitioning into snack. A working cell phone is available, and the current phone number on file is correct. A fully charged fire extinguisher (2A:10BC) was observed, along with a functioning carbon monoxide detector, tested by the LPA. The fireplace is properly screened to prevent access by children, and all hazardous items, including toxins, are stored securely and are inaccessible to children. No weapons are present, as stated by Licensee, Karly Turner. LIC stated they understand that all firearms, weapons, and ammunition must be locked separately and made inaccessible as per Title 22 Regulations. LPA observed stairs to be barricaded with a baby gate upon entry into the home.
The facility provides clean, safe, and age-appropriate toys for children. A current roster is on file, and required postings, including the Facility Sketch, Emergency Disaster Plan, and Notification of Parent’s Rights, are displayed. Fire and disaster drill documentation is maintained, with the last drill conducted in September 2025.
