25 | On 10/01/24, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Kelli Waters arrived unannounced at the facility to conduct an annual inspection as part of a compliance review. During the visit, Licensee, assistant, and 3 adult residents were present. LPA met with Renee Brown and toured the facility, inside and out, records were reviewed, and the following was observed and/or discussed:
Facility Review:
- Normal days and hours of operation are: Monday-Thursday 7am-5pm
- Off-limit areas include: Family Room, Office Area, Kitchen area, garage and entire second floor
- The facility is licensed to have no more than 14 children as a large FCCH and is operating within the licensed capacity and appropriate ratios. 8 children in total were present; 2 infants and 6 preschool children with 2 staff.
- Appropriate supervision was being provided during this inspection
- A working telephone is present, and the current phone number is on file
- A fully charged fire extinguisher (2A:10BC) was observed. A smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector were present and tested by the Licensee during this inspection.
- Fireplace in off limits area is properly screened to prevent access by children
- Toxins are locked and inaccessible to children in care.
- Weapons are not present/stored according to Title 22. Licensee understands all guns, weapons and ammunition must be key locked separately and made inaccessible per Title 22 Regulations
- Stairs are barricaded
- Clean, safe, and age-appropriate toys are provided
- Facility Sketch, Emergency Disaster Plan and Notification of Parent’s Rights poster will be moved to outside parent board
- Documentation of fire and disaster drills are on file – Last drill was conducted on 08/14/24
