On 06/22/2022 at 2:00 PM Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Susan Brewer, arrived at the facility to conduct an annual inspection. LPA was greeted and granted entry into the home by Licensee Natalja Barrera. LPA conducted a COVID-19 pre-screening and toured the facility, inside and out, reviewed records, and observed and/or discussed the following: The LIC279 and LIC279B forms, were updated to reflect changes, which included a child that turned 18 and lives in another city, the days and hours of operation to the facility. The LPA S.Brewer, took a census of 8 children present, a qualified assistant to the licensee.

DAYS AND HOURS OF OPERATION: Monday through Friday from 5:00 AM to 10:00 PM
OFF-LIMIT AREAS INCLUDE: 1ST Floor Laundry room, Office, Closet, Garage, Entire 2nd Floor, Outdoor Pool, Spa and North Side Yard.

The inspection consisted of reviews of the following domain: Physical Plant, Care and Supervision, Records, Facility Administration, Staffing Ratio and Capacity, Personal Rights. The inspection found the facility to be in compliance in these domains. Deficiencies not cited this visit.

· The facility is operating within the licensed capacity and appropriate ratios.


· The Licensee is present in the home and has ensured that children in care are supervised.
· When temporarily absent from the home, the Licensee shall arrange for a substitute adult to care for and supervise children with a qualified assistant.
· A working telephone is present.
· Appropriate fire extinguisher needle in the green, smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector are present and were tested by the Licensee during this inspection on 06/22/2022.
· All hazardous items are inaccessible, this includes detergents, cleaning compounds, medications and other items which could pose a danger to children during the annual inspection on 06/22/2022.
· Storage of poisons is inaccessible to children and locked on 06/22/2022
· There is a properly barricaded fireplace on 06/22/2022.

· No guns or weapons present as stated by the Licensee Natalja Barrera on 06/22/2020. Licensee understands all guns, weapons and ammunition must be key locked separately and made inaccessible per Title 22 regulations.
· Stairs are barricaded and inaccessible to children on 06/22/2022.
· Home is clean and orderly, with heating and ventilation for safety and comfort
· Safe and appropriate toys and equipment are present for both indoor and outdoor activities.
· Outdoor play areas are fenced and/ or appropriate supervision is present.
· Verification of control of property by grant deed verified by the department.
· Pediatric CPR and First Aid renewed 10/23/2021 Card expire on 10/2023
· Health & Safety Certificate - completed on 12/30/2020
· Mandated reporter General 02/09/2022; AB1207 Child Care Expires: 02/2024
· Documentation of fire & earthquake drills to be conducted every six months: Last drill on 03/01/2022 at 9:30 AM, 9 children present and on 04/21/2022 Earthquake Drill at 9:30 AM, 11 children present and 2 staff.
· LPA S.Brewer, observed here are bodies of water on 06/22/2022, in the outdoor Pool and Spa, fencing and self-closing latch were re-checked and were in compliance with Title 22 regulations. Licensee Natalja Barrera understands all bodies of water including ponds, above ground pools & spas, in-ground pools & spas, and some fountains must be properly covered or fenced per Title 22 regulations. The Department must be notified before and after installation of the above types of bodies of water. In addition, all wading pools or similar product must be emptied immediately after use and stored in an upright position.
· Clean, safe and age appropriate toys.
· Children’s files are NOT complete on 06/22/2022, Sleep logs missing for Child #2 and Child #4, where the licensee was misinformed by an outside agency that the documentation ends at 12 months of age.
· Staff files are complete on 06/22/2022.

This facility provides Incidental Medical Services – IMS. LPA Susan Brewer, reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children’s, personnel, and administrative records. Consultation provided to Licensee Natalja Barrera regarding the update of the IMS Plan on 06/22/2022.

Licensee Natalja Barrera, was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.

LPA Susan Brewer, discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee Natalja Barrera and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment.
