25 | On December 9, 2024, at 8:30AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) William Chancellor arrived at Kid’s World Preschool (CCC) and conducted a Case Management visit for the purpose of inspecting newly installed playground equipment and resurfaced rubber turf. LPA met with Facility Director (DIR) Monica Carranza and discussed the following.
On October 7, 2024, CCC staff submitted an Unusual Incident Report (UIR) which stated all three playgrounds would be temporarily closed starting in November due to construction. The playground will be resurfaced, and new play structures would be installed on all three playgrounds. A written plan was provided to ensure the safety of children and staff while construction was ongoing and playground space was closed. All preschool age children began a rotation schedule to utilize a separate grass field area that was previously licensed and considered accessible to children.
On November 18, 2024, LPA Chancellor, and Licensing Program Manager (LPM) Pauline Beschorner made a visit to the facility for the purpose of following-up on the submission of UIR. During the visit, LPA and LPM were informed that construction was delayed due to the requirement of installing a retaining wall on playground “C” and the leveling of the ground. LPA obtained playground rotation schedule as well as renderings/drawings for planned construction.
At time of today's inspection, LPA toured all three playgrounds and noted the following: Play structures are all firmly anchored to the ground, shade is provided in various areas with canopies or awning, adequate cushioning material (rubber turf) are available under play structures and fall zones. LPA did confirm that all three play structures have a manufacture sticker that provides an age recommendation of two years or older. LPA did not observe any health or safety concerns while touring the playground or facility and no deficiencies were cited. LPA authorized the opening of all three playgrounds.
An exit interview was conducted, LPA Chancellor provided Director, Monica Carranza with a copy of this report and a notice of site visit. Notice of site visit must be displayed in a prominent location for the next 30 days. |
