25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) William Chancellor conducted an unannounced annual inspection for a large family childcare at the above home on February 9, 2026, at 9:20 AM. LPA was greeted by assistant (A1) Marissa Santillan, who granted entry and a tour of the FCC. Licensee, Kailie Diaz arrived shortly after at approximately 9:44 AM. Upon arrival there were nine daycare children present with A1 and A2. During the inspection, LPA verified facility currently has sixteen (16) children enrolled with nine (9) children present.
The facility operates Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:00PM, serving children birth to six years old. Certain areas are off-limits, listed as the master bedroom, master bathroom, bedroom 2 and bedroom 3, laundry room, attached garage and side yard. The facility is licensed as a large Family Child Care Home (FCCH) with a maximum capacity of fourteen (14) children and is operating within the licensed capacity of the license. The fire clearance for a large family childcare was approved on October 17, 2025, by Temecula Fire Department. LPA confirmed control of property is on file.
During the inspection, LPA observed Licensee and assistant to be interacting with children outdoors, preparing lunches and transitioning children down to nap or intermittent pickups. A working cell phone is available, and the current phone number on file is correct. A fully charged fire extinguisher (2A:10BC) was observed, along with a functioning smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector, both of which were tested by the Licensee. The fireplace is properly screened to prevent access by children, and all hazardous items, including toxins, are stored securely and are inaccessible to children. Licensee, Kailie Diaz stated there are no weapons present, and they understand that all firearms, weapons, and ammunition must be locked separately and made inaccessible as per Title 22 Regulations.
