13 | On October 17, 2025, at 11:10 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) William Chancellor met with Licensee Fnu Deepamala to deliver the investigative findings regarding the allegation listed above. As part of the investigation, LPA conducted an initial visit to Deepamala Family Childcare (FCC) on October 1, 2025, where census was taken, confidential interviews were conducted (S1-S2), and relevant documentation was requested.
The investigation stemmed from a complaint received on September 24, 2025, alleging that an adult in the home slapped a child that was crying. Two of two interviews with staff present on the day in question, deny the allegation, claiming that staff 3 (S3) did not have interactions with a crying child during the duration of nap. FCC does not use surveillance on the inside of the home or in daycare areas.
Due to conflicting statements and lack of corroborating evidence from witnesses, LPA is unable to substantiate the allegation that an adult in the home slapped a day care child. While this incident may have occurred, it is not supported by sufficient evidence and is therefore deemed unsubstantiated.
An exit interview was conducted, and a copy of the report, appeal rights, and a Notice of Site Visit were provided to Licensee Fnu Deepamala. The Notice of Site Visit must remain posted in a prominent location visible to families and caregivers for 30 consecutive days. |
