32 | LPA observed a total of 8 sinks and 5 toilets available for children’s use. There are sufficient sinks to accommodate the requested capacity of 80 children, there are 5 toilets that is not sufficient to accommodate the requested capacity of 80 children. The applicant has submitted an updated LIC 200A for a capacity 75 preschool children. There is a separate staff restroom equipped with a toilet and a sink. The isolation area for children who are ill will be the office.
Facility will provide am and pm snacks. The kitchen area currently includes stove, toaster, microwave, dishwasher, refrigerator, and freezer. The kitchen area and food storage areas were observed free of rodents and/or vermin. Food was observed to be properly stored separate from cleaning materials. Hazardous items in kitchen are inaccessible to children via a locked door.
The facility currently has a fully fenced playground area. Fencing is wrought iron which is at least four feet high. The total square footage for all the outdoor activity space is 4045.92 for all 3 playgrounds, playground A is 2123.00, playground B is 934.92, and playground C is 988.00, which is not sufficient accommodate the requested capacity. A playground waiver to share the playground at different times in the AM and PM due to limited square footage shall be submitted and approved prior to licensure. Shade is provided via wind sails and trees. There are sufficient outdoor age-appropriate toys and play equipment available on the playground. There is a climbing structure on the playground for children ages 2-5 which is properly anchored. There is adequate cushioning in fall zones of climber provided by wood chips on playground A and rubber mats on playground C, playground B doens't have a climbing structure. Drinking water is available via filtered water using pitchers and disposable cups. LPA observed all hazardous items on the playground to be inaccessible to children. Applicant Brittany Roxanne Walker was reminded that any changes to the facility must be reported to and approved by Community Care Licensing.
For child care center licenses issued after July 1, 2022, the licensee shall test their water for lead within 180 days of licensure pursuant to Written Directives section 101700 (PIN 21-21.1- CCP).
LPA reviewed with applicant the LIC 311A, Records to Be Maintained at The Facility, for child’s records, personnel records, administrative records, and documents to be posted. |
