The kitchen area currently includes refrigerator, freezer, dishwasher, stove with oven one microwave and kitchen sink. The kitchen area and food storage areas were observed to be free of rodents and/or vermin. Food will be observed to be properly stored separate from cleaning materials. Hazardous items in kitchen are inaccessible to children via door.
The facility currently has a fully fenced playground area for the existing pre-school component. Wrought iron fencing surrounding the property is at least four feet high. The total square footage for all the outdoor activity space for all components is 2,704.45 sq ft, which is sufficient to accommodate the requested capacity. The facility does not have access to an additional outdoor playground for the requesting school-age program. The facility has requested to submit a waiver to share the current licensed preschool playground using a time schedule. On the back side of the pre-school playground there’s an in-ground pool with a wrought iron fence and gate which meets Title 22 regulations. Shade is provided via building overhead structure, wind seals, and trees on the playground. There are sufficient outdoor age-appropriate toys and play equipment available on the playground. There is a climbing structure on the playground which is age appropriate for the groups that will use them. All equipment is properly anchored. There is adequate cushioning in fall zones of climbers provided by rubber matting. Applicant understands that ages components cannot commingle while using this area. Drinking water is available via igloos and disposable cups. LPA observed all hazardous items on the playgrounds to be inaccessible to children. Facility representative Betty Reckard was reminded that any changes to the facility must be reported to and approved by Community Care Licensing.
For child care center licenses issued after July 1, 2022, the licensee shall test their water for lead within 180 days of licensure pursuant to Written Directives section 101700 (PIN 21-21.1- CCP).
LPA reviewed the LIC 311A, Records to Be Maintained at The Facility, for child’s records, personnel records, administrative records, and documents to be posted.
