32 | The complaint stated that staff yelled at a child during nap time because the child would not go to sleep. In addition, the complaint stated that a child left the classroom without a teacher and did not have appropriate supervision.
Staff stated that when they speak to the children, they use firm tones, but do not yell at the children. Staff stated that if a child does not want to nap, they can choose to do a quiet activity on their mat and rest if they don’t bother the other children. Staff stated that in the situation where a child left the classroom, there was another teacher outside and the child was never out of supervision.
Four out of five adult guardians interviewed did not express complaints or concerns regarding the supervision or discipline that their children receive. Four out of five adult guardians interviewed were happy with the care that their children receive at the facility.
Due to conflicting information obtained through interviews and documentation, LPA was unable to determine if a violation occurred.
Based on the investigation conducted, although the allegations may have happened or are valid, there is not a preponderance of the evidence to prove that the alleged violations occurred. As a result, the allegations are UNSUBSTANTIATED.
Report reviewed with Acting Director and Assistant Director and copies were provided. Notice of Site Visit was issued and Acting Director and Assistant Director understands that it must remain posted for 30 days. Appeal Rights were also provided and discussed. |
